As the browser war is in full swing ,ie Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and the latest Opera 10 , many of us are using more than one browser.I run three browsers on my computer. How many web browsers do you run on your computer?
Even though you have multiple browsers, Windows allow you to keep only one as default. When you try to open a web page saved on your hard disk or click a URL on a PDF file the page will always open in the browser you have assigned as default. So it is hard for you to decide on which browser that you’re going to put as default browser.
Browser Chooser is a tiny tool acting as the default browser gives you the flexibility of choosing what browser to open the link in. It allows you to choose what browser to use for any given task. It is developed in VB.Net and geared towards Windows Vista and Windows 7.
You have to add all browsers you would like the ballot screen to show , manually first. You cannot add more than 4 browsers to the ballot screen.
After adding all browsers, click on the “Miscellaneous” tab and then click the “Make default browser” button to add the default browser. So when you click on a URL this will giving you the flexibility of choosing whichever browser you want to use for the session.

Xenocode Introduces Browser 'Sandbox'
Do you want to run run multiple versions of Internet Explorer or Firefox?Or run all browsers together to test the new design of your website?
All you need is Xenocode - it’s an awesome platform that helps you run any web browser on your computer without installation. Just download an executable from the Xenocode website and this allows all popular Windows browsers to be run simultaneously, directly from the web. Web designers, system administrators, and other users can now evaluate Internet Explorer 8, 7, and 6, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, and Google Chrome directly from the web in a risk-free manner. Unlike traditional software applications, Xenocode WebApps do not require any software to be installed and allow multiple application versions to run side-by-side on any version of Windows.
Unlike hardware virtualization solutions such as VMware and Virtual PC, which emulate the underlying hardware and therefore require an entire copy of the host operating system, Xenocode OS virtualization technology emulates operating system features required for application execution.Xenocode requires no setup, configuration, clients, or device drivers, insulates applications against conflicts, and runs existing applications seamlessly on Windows Vista and locked-down desktops. It delivers your applications instantly, anywhere — to your web page, intranet, portable storage devices.
By using Xenocode, users can:
- Run legacy applications without errors or UAC prompts on Windows Vista and locked-down desktops.
- Use otherwise incompatible applications side-by-side, or multiple versions of a given application, such as Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007, simultaneously.
- Carry applications on portable USB keys, available for instant execution on laptops or kiosks along with all user data and settings.

Internet Explorer 8 RC1 Now Available
Microsoft has finally released the first release candidate-IE8 RC1 Build 8.0.6001- for Internet Explorer 8 promising to make the Internet experience faster, secure, compatibility enhancements,Private tweaks and more compliant with web standards.
The new version brings enhancements in private browsing, accessibility, overall reliability and speed. RC1 reaches a significant development milestone towards a browser that can compete on closer footing with Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera in terms of features. However, web standards support (especially CSS 3) and performance are still far behind the competition.
Features
- Tabbed Browsing-option to re-open accidentally closed tabs.
- Security-introduction of the Clickjacking feature.
- InPrivate-Microsoft had debuted the InPrivate mode for anonymous browsing
- Phishing Filter-IE8 integrates its own Phishing filter called the SmartScreen.
- Import/Export settings-added to import favorites from Firefox and Safari
IE8 has also taken a page from Chrome's playbook and now opens a separate process for every tab. This means that IE8 won't crash outright just because of problems with one tab.
Internet Explorer 8 RC1 can only be installed on Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server.
One feature Internet Explorer still lacks is a download manager—a feature you'll find in every other browser.

Iterasi - A New Way of Dynamic Bookmarking
takes bookmarking pages to the next level. It actually allows you to save pages in their current state.
Iterasi is your personal Web archive, allowing you to snapshot exact copies of Web pages that will be there for you forever. Pages are kept in your secure account where they can be searched, shared via email and published via RSS or a widget.Instead of just saving links, you use Iterasi to save all of the information on a page, including images and links, a process it calls “notarizing.”
When selected, the Bookmarklet runs some JavaScript in your browser which grabs the URL you are viewing and sends it to our datacenter in the cloud. Once there our hardware will go get the page, notarize it, and save it into your account. Plus, since a bookmarklet is basically a link, the iterasi Bookmarklet solution works with any browser.
To use Iterasi, you need to install its toolbar for Firefox or Internet Explorer. When you’re on a page you want to save, you click on the notarize button that Iterasi adds to your browser. While logged into your account, you can organize your pages, make notes, and share them with others.

Another change has been made to the browser's pop-up blocker. Previously, it "just minimized pop-up windows to the lower-right corner of the browser window", with a window for each pop-up. Now there's a notification number and a menu to open a specific pop-up window if desired.
