Internet Explorer- Add to ‘Send to’ Menu

When you right-click on a file or folder,the context menu that appears displays a list of quick controls. One of these is the “Send to” function that directly copies the file to a selected location.By default, the file cannot be sent to “Internet Explorer”. Internet Explorer
can come in handy while opening files of different formats. With the right plug-ins installed you can open various applications like text documents, PDFs, images and fl ash files. This
saves you the time and CPU memory that is required to open different applications for such files. Here is how you can go about it

 

Click “Start | Run”.
In the Run textbox type in “sendto”.The “sendto” window will now open.
If you are using Windows XP then right-click anywhere in the window and select “New | Shortcut”.

 

Click “Browse” and select the location of Internet Explorer’s executable file. The default location is usually “C:\Program Files\InternetExplorer\IEXPLORE.EXE”.

 

Windows Vista users will have to go through another procedure. Navigate to the “Users | <username>| AppData | Roaming | Microsoft |Windows | SendTo” folder or type in“shell:sendto” in the command prompt on the Start Menu

Right-click on the window and select “New | Shortcut” from the context menu. Enter “C:\ProgramFiles\InternetExplorer\IEXPLORE.EXE” in the command line and click “OK”.
Internet Explorer is also capable of playing audio and video files if the right plug-ins are installed. Having a single window to quickly launch files without  running the primary applications responsible those files, saves both your time and system resources from being used.
